Kirei board, pronounced “key’-ray” (the Japanese character signifying “beautiful,” or “clean”), is an engineered stawboard panel product for a wide range of interior uses–from flooring and countertops, to tables, chairs, and cabinets, providing a naturally chic additive to any space.

This minimum 90% post industrial recycled material is manufactured from reclaimed sorghum stalks leftover from sugar & molasses-making processes. Kirei is heat pressed with a non-toxic, formaldehyde-free, zero-VOC adhesive.

Strong, lightweight, environmentally friendly & sustainable, this architectural plywood mills and finishes like other wood products, and can be filled, sealed, painted, stained, or varnished.

Specifications:

  • Sheet sizes: 3′ x 6′ in 10mm (19lbs), 20mm (35 lbs), & 30mm (45 lbs) thickness.
  • Internal Bond: 1.5kg/km2
  • Screw holding power: Face – 25kg, Edge – 10kg
  • Class C Fire Rating, but may reach Class A with commercial flame retardants.

From a design perspective, Kirei serves as a most excellent avenue to help projects qualify for LEED credit for environmentally friendly construction.
