Vaproshield weather proofing membranes
VaproShield® membranes are breathable, water-shedding, weather resistant barriers that provide high performance vapor control. VaproShield® membranes are your offense for water vapor and your second line of defense for exterior moisture intrusion.
Vaproshield membranes allow your building to breathe with a vapor permeable fabric (think of it as Gore-Tex® for a building) that helps to prevent mildew, mold and rot. VaproShield® products can work in conjunction with most building products and systems. Project scale ranges from single family residential to high-rise towers.
VaproShield® membranes are manufactured using high density polypropylene fabric. Two highly durable outer layers are welded to a finer inner layer that controls the level of vapor transmission.

VaproShield® Building Applications
- Roof Condition: The destructive effects of trapped moisture in roof cavities can start during construction, leading to rot, mildew, and other moisture damage.
- Wall Condition: Many commonly used underlayments and membranes trap condensation and moisture in wall cavities.
- Exposed Construction: VaproShield® products are designed to reduce these destructive effects by allowing internal moisture to escape while keeping external moisture out. VaproShield® can remain exposed for up to 8 months.
The History of VaproShield®
During the 1980's, a team of Scottish technicians began researching innovative ways to address the growing problem of water damage due to trapped moisture vapors in the cavities of roofs and walls. Their efforts led to some of the most technically advanced textiles and membranes in the world. One of their greatest achievements was the development of a waterproof, breathable textile for the construction industry. Following a comprehensive, five year study of marketing, testing and design, the A. Proctor Group introduced RoofShield™
