Created from 100% recycled glass and concrete, IceStone® surface products are sustainably manufactured to offer highly durable and long-lasting performance with eye-catching appeal. Available in 24 standard colors featuring a unique, glass speckled appearance, IceStone® products come in a variety of shades, ranging from soft, earth-toned neutrals to rich, saturated hues. Simulating the natural landscape IceStone® smoothly harmonizes with any home or office décor and serves as an outstanding alternative to stone and tile.

 

Easily shaped and cut, and able to be mounted vertically or horizontally, IceStone® surfaces are ideal for kitchen countertops and backsplashes, bathroom vanities and shower walls, tabletops, flooring, and even may be used as outdoor pavers. In fact, the fabrication, installation and maintenance of IceStone® surfaces follow essentially the same process as used with natural stone.

 

Unlike petrochemical-based materials, IceStone® surfaces do not fade with UV exposure and are heat and scratch resistant. Stronger than marble, IceStone® surfaces can sustain pressures up to 13,000 pounds per square inch making the material highly resistant to chipping, splitting or cracking. Offered in precast slabs measuring 52 1/2 by 96 inches and 1 ¼ inches thick, IceStone® surfaces may also be used for exterior applications. They are freeze-thaw rated with minimal expansion and can be finished with gloss finish, honed or sandblasted to add slip resistance.

 

IceStone® surfaces will last a lifetime if simple care and maintenance steps are followed. The surface will not stain if a water based, low-VOC penetrating sealer is applied once a year and a mild, water based, low ph cleanser is used as needed.

 

Due to the VOC-free, high recycled content and Cradle to Cradle™ certification, IceStone durable surfaces are ideal for projects seeking LEED certification. IceStone is the first and only durable surface in the world to receive McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC)’s coveted Cradle to Cradle™ certification. Cradle to Cradle™ assesses products on a number of criteria, such as the use of safe and healthy materials, design for material reuse and recycling, efficient use of energy and water throughout production, and instituting strategies for social responsibility.
