Marmoleum is linoleum—the way it used to be—but better!

Active ImageMarmoleum is a natural flooring product made from linseed oil, wood flour, rosin, jute and limestone—all natural, non-toxic materials derived from sustainable sources. Installed with solvent free adhesives, Marmoleum contains no harmful volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) and poses no adverse health risks over its useful life. Moreover, Marmoleum treads lightly on the environment both during the production process and at the time of disposal.

Available in over 100 colors and an exciting range of insets & borders, Marmoleum can be used alone to evoke quiet simplicity or combined to erupt into daring patterns and design effects. Marmoleum’s extensive pallet meets a variety of design and flooring needs, and due to the product’s ease of installation, Marmoleum has been installed in homes, offices, hospitals, schools and buildings all over the world.

With Marmoleum, sweeping, dusting and damp mopping are often the extent of maintenance required. With the addition of an optional finish, known as Topshield, Marmoleum’s richness in color and design stays as sharp and striking as the day it was installed. This water-based finish provides a strong, durable primer and a top layer to ensure a highly effective shield against dirt. The cross-linked primer ensures smoothness and durability while the top layer guarantees resistance to scuffing and soiling.Active Image

Allergy and asthma sufferers benefit from Marmoleum’s anti static properties as dust and dirt are prevented from easily adhering to the flooring’s surface. Furthermore, the bactericidal properties of Marmoleum prevent micro-organisms including Salmonella Typhimurium and Staphylococcus Aureus from multiplying themselves. It is the continual oxidation of the linseed oil that enables this phenomenon. For these reasons, Marmoleum is the floor covering of choice in many hospitals is commonly recommended by medical professionals for people with respiratory disorders.

Marmoleum has been a mainstay floor covering for over 100 years because it is one of the few products made from primarily natural raw materials. It is a tough yet visually striking floor covering, highly resistant to heavy rolling loads and foot traffic. Because Marmoleum is a natural organic product, its performance is enhanced by time, as exposure to air serves to harden and increase its durability. Although Marmoleum continues to harden over time, the floor remains quiet and comfortable under foot.

It is time that energy upgrades to your home will add resale value similar to  kitchen upgrades.
