Fiberglass, unlike aluminum and vinyl, expands and contracts at a rate similar to glass which translates to less torsion between the window panels and frame during cold weather and thereby reducing air leakage. Moreover, fiberglass does not require a thermal break like aluminum—a highly conductive material—as fiberglass acts as a good insulator on its own.

Fiberglass is a strong composite material and maintains its strength in every climate, and unlike wood or vinyl, will not rot, shrink, or warp. Wood can rot easily due to today’s higher interior moisture content and vinyl can become brittle and crack over time with UV exposure. Because of fiberglass’ strength, Thermotech windows have a slimmer sash than vinyl and wood windows allowing for a larger glass area, and therefore more natural light.

Furthermore, Thermotech windows are chemically stable and use Low Volatile Organic Compound paint, ensuring that the indoor air quality of a building is not affected as it often is by other new windows.
